Editor's review

There are days when time is just too precious to spend it on mundane, ordinary, boring tasks. One of such tasks is converting text files to HTML pages, or, being even more specific, converting text tables to HTML tables. AscToTab will help you do that in no time.
AscToTab is a tool that converts comma- or tab-delimited tables (or plain text files) to HTML pages with table layout. You might need this tool if you, say, have a price list in .csv format, saved from MS Excel or other spreadsheet application, and do not particularly relish the idea of doing all the mark-up yourself and converting the file to a HTML table by yourself.
The program converts tables with default settings pretty nicely, recognizing table headers, columns and rows correctly. However, if you want full control of the way the output table will look like, you can use the built-in preprocessor commands. The program works either through Windows interface or command-line interface. Download this free tool today and save time converting text files to HTML!

Publisher's description

AscToTab is utility that converts *plain* or tab-delimited text files containing table data into either HTML or RTF (rich text format) tables. For plain text files AscToTab will attempt to determine how many columns the table has; the default alignment of each column; which rows are header rows. It will also spot entries that span several columns or several rows. For HTML production the user can select table attributes such as BORDER, WIDTH, CELLPADDING, CELLSPACING, BGCOLOR, BORDERCOLOR and CAPTION. For those files containing tab-delimited data the table is created from the tab-delimited cells line-by-line. You can choose what type of source file you have, and whether you want to convert text to HTML tables or convert text to RTF tables.
